Nice Upgrade to the PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My original launch PS4 died after accidently being dropped so I decided to pay the extra $100 and get the Pro when I went to get another. Don't have a 4K TV yet, just 1080p but games seem to run a bit smoother. 4K TV or not Assassins Creed Origins looks fantastic. Overall please with the Pro.

Great for those that have not taken the plunge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grabbed the PS4 Pro because I did not have a PS4 yet. Primarily I purchased at this time to play Horizon Zero Dawn, but have also picked up Until Dawn, and downloaded Let It Die. I still am playing on 1080P and everything looks great; while I still have the option of later moving to 4K when I upgrade the TV. I do not notice any noise from the console, and it is in an open entertainment shelf about 7 feet away, right under the TV. Connecting it up was easy, from the included HDMI cable to the wireless network built in for Internet connectivity. The controller is comfortable; where before my hands would cramp up sometimes with the PS2 controllers. Seems like small incremental changes paid off with the PS4 dual shock. If anything, my only complaint in the front buttons blending in a bit too much making them hard to find or determine function; all for the sake of aesthetics.

I'm happy with the upgrade!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For some people, the TV resolution doesn't matter that much but I'm a bit picky. I pay attention to the image quality whether I'm watching a movie, a tv show or playing games. I lose interest easily if the picture quality is not good. My primary reason to upgrade console was to match my SUHD TV (8000 Series) while I play games. I played a couple of games on both PS4 and PS4 Pro, a couple of movies using Amazon app through PS4 and PS4 Pro. The difference in picture quality was noticeable. I'm not sure if there would be any difference in picture quality between PS4 and PS4 Pro if you have a 1080p TV. I don't rent or buy Blu-ray discs, so I don't care about the 4k Blu-ray player, for some people this could be a deal breaker. It all depends on what your priorities are. Mine were to buy a console to PLAY GAMES with good resolution. For other things (such as movies or TV shows) either I use the app on my Smart TV or watch cable. I like the slightly changed controller (feel, headphone option and the cool blue light). I never had any major issues with PS3 Slim (besides occasional freeze) and PS4 (none), so I decided to stick with the brand that I trust completely. It's been more than 2 months and I'm enjoying PS4 Pro. I've played games for more than 12 hours continuously without any issues and I got really hooked while I was playing Horizon Zero Dawn, a perfect combination to get the best out of the upgrade (SUHD TV, PS4 Pro and a game that's probably the best in graphics on any console). I've posted a couple of screenshots of a game that I played on PS4 Pro. I'm very happy with my decision of upgrading from PS4 to PS4 Pro.

Amazing 4k graphics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this one month ago. I just happened to walk in best buy and see if they had one. I have to tell you. The 4K gaming with horizon, omg it's like I'm actually there in the game. I used to have an Xbox one and the only gripe I have is the menu system. Xbox has a menu and game library system much easier to use then the ps4. The horizontal menu with only a few games showing I really don't like. It's hard to find the apps I want to use. I have to scroll all the way to the left just to view the library which is 20 or so icons away. Other then that this is amazing. The last PlayStation I had was a PS2 when they first came out. Brings back a lot of memories playing gran tourismo, spiral and madden NFL 2004. Ohhh the good old days as a child. No worries, no car payments and no crazy ex girl friends.... sigh

Great upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It might be a little early to review the ps4 pro, I've had it a few month now but i must say it pretty good. I havent had any problems with games no working or crashing. I got the pro because i wanted better internet Speed and better bandwidth, and i also like the extra USB in the back of the ps4 pro so you have 3 ports now. My Internet speed is much faster now & the profomance on the ps4 pro is much bettet. And it has alot games super sampled giving you a mich shaper image quality. If you want some most power and want a better profomance & graphics this will be a good upgrade for you. Also help PSVR and if you and a 4k tv your games will look even bettet. Im happy with my ps4 pro all my games save i carry over to the new ps4 pro. And some games really look great on the pro.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the launch edition PS4 and wanted to upgrade to the PS4 Pro since I have a Samsung 65" js8500 4K HDTV. And it was worth it. First game I tested out was "the last of us remastered" and definitely noticed the difference. The colors and graphics are amazing. I upgraded the HDD to a Samsung 1tb SSD and wow the speed is very much noticeable. Always first to open maps on multiplayer games.

Completely missed out reviewing the ps4 til now!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I completely missed out reviewing the ps4 til now! After looking through my purchases I noticed that I didn't finish several reviews for several item[-s]; but here goes.... ps4 is a great system; I enjoy my wireless controller[-s], the online multi-player games, PS plus, the ps4 streaming service, the ability to watch movie discs, and I have enjoyed the ps4 paid for television subscription service [when watching movies and/or videos the ps4 remote is a must have]. some people claim to have overheating issues but I already have had several fans/stand[-s] purchased and waiting for each version of the ps4 before I purchased each model of the ps4 that I have owned-so I have never had any overheating issues. Some of my favorite games to play are the racing games and the flight games with the racing wheel on a racing rig and with the flight stick and flight throttle respectively. Although I also had to upgrade to the largest SSD possible because the OEM 1TB wasn't the right size for me. My wife even enjoys playing the Playstation 4 console with me from time to time. ¿Christmas; anyone?

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro?
Asked by Josh.
- A:Answer The PS4 Slim outputs games at full 1080p, while the PS4 Pro can output games at up to 4K resolution (2160p). If you have a 4K television, you'll see a noticeable difference in game quality. Note that not all games support 4K, but some will receive updates such as higher framerates, making gameplay smoother.

Q: QuestionNo Ultra Blu-Ray Drive...but what if you buy/rent an Ultra movie from the playstation store? That should still be able to play correct? If so, then is not really having the drive, that big of a deal? It def would hurt redbox though, right?
Asked by RockyDmise.
- A:Answer You can stream 4K movies online, just make sure you have the correct bandwidth and speed needed to enjoy it . Downloading a 4K movie would be a challenge , we're talking about a 90 GB download file . 90 . GB . Download .For just ONE movie . This is why I find the lack of a 4K blu ray player so puzzling.

Q: QuestionDoes the ps4 pro come with a vertical stand?
Asked by Lowky.
- A:Answer If the answer is no as everyone above says, why do they show so many pictures with the vertical stand attached but no warning (I could find in my quick search) that vertical stand is sold separately. False advertising.

Q: QuestionWhat TV or monitor should I get to enjoy 4k with the ps4 pro?
Asked by Miza.
- A:Answer Well probably no PS4 games will support 4K, though many will support higher than 1080p. (I've read that 2500ish lines of resolution might be common). At any rate, I'd recommend a high end Sony or Samsung using a VA panel. I guess because it's cheaper, a lot of TVs are now using IPS panels instead of VA, and VA has *WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY* higher contrast than IPS does. Like when I was looking at TVs earlier this year, the VA based one I bought has nearly 7000:1 contrast (REAL contrast, not fake), while IPS based sets I was looking at had 700:1. The WORST VA based TVs still had over 2x the contrast of the BEST IPS sets. I think ONLY Sony and Samsung still sell VA TVs, and not all of them are anymore either. Also watch out for how many HDMI ports actually support HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 so you can actually use them with 4K/HDR. All of Sony's 4K sets support 4K through all their HDMI ports, but they're the only company that's true of. Samsung you have to move to the 8 or 9 series to get all the ports supporting HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2, and other brands usually just have 1 port that supports it. On top of that, Sony and Samsung bother making good scalers for their TVs, so non-4K content still looks great. (Literally SD content still looks fine.) WAY higher quality scaler than other brands. I sound like an ad, but seriously I did months of research and if you care about games (and being able to support a variety of other gear at different resolutions), you're really limited to Sony and Samsung. Also, look out for TVs that don't have analog inputs anymore :-/
